Discover further monthly gardening advice

This months gardening tasks include...

Vigorous wisteria needs pruning twice a year if it is to flower well. Cut back all the long whippy growth that has been made during the summer and prune again in July to encourage the development of flowering spurs.

February is also a good time to prune Ivy and Virginia creepers.

Divide herbaceous perennials and prune Winter Jasmine after flowers have faded.

Chit potato tubers.

Prune hardy evergreen hedges and renovate overgrown deciduous hedges.

Don't forget to keep putting out food and water for hungry birds.
