This months gardening tasks include...


Clear up fallen leaves - especially from lawns, ponds and beds.


Plant Tulip bulbs in groups to make drifts of spring colour.


Plant evergreen shrubs and conifers, including new hedges.


Plant out spring bedding.


Prune back standard roses to help prevent wind rock damaging the plants.


Improve soil, digging over bare ground and forking in bulky, well-rotted manure or compost.


Stop winter moth damage to fruit trees using grease bands around the trunks.


Put out bird food to encourage winter birds into the garden.
